Preferential Trade Access Database, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP)
The Preferential Trade Access Database (PTAD) is an official TDAP trade-intelligence tool. It lets exporters, importers, chambers of commerce, trade associations, consultants, and Pakistan's overseas Missions look up the preferential tariff treatment, rules of origin, and procedures that apply to any product traded with Pakistan under its preferential trade arrangements, free trade agreements, preferential trade agreements, regional and multilateral arrangements, and unilateral GSP schemes.
PTAD currently covers 29 preferential arrangements (3 FTAs, 6 PTAs, 2 RTAs, 3 MTAs, and 15 unilateral GSP arrangements), mapping Pakistan's preferential access across 95 countries, drawing on official government sources. It is designed to feel fast, clean, and credible in the spirit of the International Trade Centre's Market Access Map and the World Bank's WITS, while focusing specifically on Pakistan's own preferential trade landscape.

PTAD follows international trade-classification practice, grouping Pakistan's arrangements into four categories for clear, consistent navigation:

Each arrangement has its own Agreement Module. You can reach a module in two ways: select a country of interest to view all arrangements available between Pakistan and that country, or open All Agreements, choose a category (FTA, PTA, RTA, MTA, or GSP), and select the arrangement. To view the tariff schedule applicable to imports into a given country, click the Country Selector—the rectangular box displaying the country's name, national flag, and the total number of tariff lines on its import tariff schedule. Each module then delivers tariff preferences, rules of origin, origin procedures, documentation requirements, market-access insights, source references, and technical guidance—accessible by clicking the respective headings shown below the tariff schedule. A smart search lets you look up any product by HS code or description across all arrangements or within a single one, accepting codes with or without dots or spaces and supporting 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-digit formats.
Each module shows the base or MFN tariff, the preferential tariff, and the resulting tariff advantage for every tariff line. Where liberalization is phased, year- or date-selection tools return the applicable rate, the China–Pakistan FTA (Phase II) uses calendar-year determination, while the Türkiye–Pakistan PTA uses date-linked implementation schedules. Where HS structures differ between partners, PTAD provides practical transposition support; for example, it maps 12-digit Turkish codes to the corresponding 8-digit Pakistan HS codes in line with FBR determination.
PTAD is a guidance and intelligence tool, not a legal authority. It applies a hybrid approach, combining tariff schedules with active online verification links that confirm product coverage, preferential eligibility, and current tariff measures. Every figure is traceable to its source; where a rate cannot be confirmed from the underlying data, PTAD indicates "verify at source" rather than displaying an unconfirmed number. Users should always confirm final tariff treatment and procedural requirements with the relevant customs authority before making a commercial decision, particularly where schedules or eligibility conditions change frequently.
PTAD is built for direct use by foreign buyers, overseas importers, Pakistani exporters, chambers, consultants, trade associations, Pakistan's Missions abroad, and trade-support institutions. In place of a lengthy manual, it uses a spot-guidance approach, embedding concise, need-based help throughout the interface so users of varying technical backgrounds can work independently.
